Easter Bonnet Parade

The Abergavenny Easter Bonnet Parade is held annually on Easter Saturday.  The parade starts at 11.00am in Cibi Walk shopping precinct, although free face painting is available at the Miserable Cow Coffee Bar from 9.30 am.

The event is open to everyone in any age group - participants should register at the Miserable Cow Coffee Bar in Cibi Walk.  There is a fee of £1 to enter the competition and all funds raised will go to Nevill Hall children’s ward.

There are four categories for prizes:

• Best Children’s hat/bonnet

• Best children’s fancy dress

• Best adult’s hat/bonnet

• Best adult’s fancy dress.

Any entrant under the age of fourteen must be accompanied by an adult.

The Mayor of Abergavenny joins the giant pink Easter Bunny to assist leading the parade through the town. The parade then travels through the indoor market where the market traders cast their votes on the best bonnets, and the prize giving takes place in the Brewery Yard piazza.

Abergavenny Business Awards

The awards were launched in 2010 to give the public an opportunity to recognise, praise and thank their local shops, suppliers and professionals for their excellent service, helpful assistance and sheer hard work.

The entrants are all nominated by the public and three short listed businesses in each of nine categories are invited to a gala dinner where the lucky winners are presented with trophies to mark their success.
